Saturday Sampler Tomorrow

Our next Saturday Sampler will be tomorrow, June 21st from 9-10 a.m. Our theme this month is “Cucumbers Around the World.” Our cucumbers are just barely getting started in the Demo Garden, but I know that we will all have more cucumbers than we know what to do with in a few weeks! We have some really interesting Italian and Indian cucumbers to learn about.

  1. Will you be posting your notes on Around the World with Cucumbers? Sorry I couldn’t make it to the Saturday Sampler today.

  2. Hi Ken,

Denise will have her recipes posted eventually here: http://www.sedgwick.ksu.edu/p.aspx?tabid=861 You could also call our main office line (660-0100) to ask about getting her handout. I didn’t really have any handouts, although the K-State Cucumber handout was available: http://www.ksre.ksu.edu/bookstore/pubs/mf668.pdf

The other thing that I talked about was the Indian dosakaya-type cucumber we have in the garden and that it is a cooking cucumber rather than a fresh eating cucumber. We will be talking about that more and hopefully trying a recipe at the August Saturday Sampler.
