Friday PhotoEssay

Despite lots of ominous clouds, we hardly got any rain this week. Maybe there’s still some coming, but I doubt it. I’ll believe it when I see it. The garden is looking great, despite the dry weather.

This is just one of the bags of lettuce that we harvested from the garden on Tuesday. The spring lettuce has been really nice this year.

We are growing two types of beans this year on the trellis. We’re having a reprise of the Chinese Long Beans, which is what’s pictured above. We’re also growing ‘Emerite,’ which is a pole green bean.

We did get the grafted heirloom tomatoes planted and staked/tied on Tuesday. They should catch up with the others in no time at all. We also have them planted a little closer together than I’ve done in the past, so I’ll be interested to see if they turn into a jungle!

The larkspur finally burst into bloom earlier this week with all the hot weather. It’s hard to remember that it was so hot on Monday and Tuesday, when it is barely 50 right now. This has really been a crazy spring.

Have a great weekend!
