Growing Great Greens for Market Class

I realized this morning that I hadn’t posted anything about the upcoming classes we’re having in the next couple weeks.

The main class I want to promote is the Growing Great Greens for Market class that is next Tuesday evening (Nov. 9, 2010). We’re starting with dinner at 6 pm, and the class itself will start at 6:30 pm. Laura Christensen, owner of Blue Door Farm in Kansas City, will be speaking about growing salad greens in high tunnels. I will be speaking about different types of greens in general, as well as scheduling plantings and other season extension techniques. The cost of the class is $10 (which includes dinner). The class will be held in the Sunflower Room here at the Extension office. You can register by calling 660-0144.

Also next Tuesday is the Field to Fork and Recipe to Reality Workshop all day in our 4-H Hall here at the Extension office. For more information about that workshop or to register, you can visit http://fieldtofork.eventbrite.com.

Then the following Tuesday, November 16th, I will be teaching a class on Marketing Your Farm Business with Social Media. This class will also be in the Sunflower Room, starting at 7 p.m. It is intended to be an introduction to different types of social media, while discussing the value of each type for marketing. The class is $5, and you can register by calling 660-0144.
