Planting & Harvesting in the Family of 4 Garden

Today was a busy day all over the garden, so I’ll be posting all week about the different things we did in the garden. Today I’ll focus on the Family of 4 Garden.

First, we harvested almost all of the remaining lettuce, spinach, and radishes because with the heat this week, they would probably be rather bitter or strongly flavored by next week. We harvested 4.25 pounds of salad greens and 1 bunch of radishes!

Once we had that harvesting done, we also picked out some peppers and got them planted. The five peppers chosen for the Family of 4 Garden were: Cayenne, NuMex Sunrise, Merlot, Purple Beauty, and Big Bertha.

Family of 4 Garden Harvest:

4.25 pounds of lettuce/spinach mix @ $7.00/lb = $29.75

1 bunch of radishes @ $1.39/bunch = $1.39

Weekly Total: $31.14

Year to Date: $71.02
