Gardening & Growing in the Sedgwick County Extension Master Gardeners Demonstration Garden!
I was out watering the garden this afternoon, preparing to put on the row cover again. Everything is extremely dry, and with the row covers on, any rain we get tomorrow will not make a lot of difference in the extremely dry soil. When I checked on the carrots, I found that there were a few carrots that were a nice size for snacking.
The bigger, orangier carrots are ‘Napoli’ and the more pink/salmon colored carrots are ‘Atomic Red’. Yum!
They do look yummy! My girls would gobble them up! I have really enjoyed Fall gardening. This is the first year we have made a full effort to Fall garden. Thankfully the weather has cooperated…expect for the lack of rain.
The lack of rain has been the biggest bummer. Still, almost everything is looking good in the garden!
The Sedgwick County Extension Master Gardeners’ Demonstration Garden is on the grounds of the Sedgwick County Extension Education Center.
