Wind or no wind, today was planting day! We planted all the tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant so they could get whipped around in the wind. We planted squash, cucumber, and melon seeds. We planted flower seeds. We planted herbs. You name it, we pretty much planted it!

One of the Master Gardeners plants the peppers in the Family of 4 Garden. This year we have 6 types of peppers in the Family of 4 Garden: 2 bell peppers, 2 Giant Marconi, 1 jalapeno, 1 banana, 1 chili, and 1 ‘Yummy’ snack pepper.

We needed the tomato cages to make sure we got the spacing right, so we decided we might as well put them in now, rather than wait a couple weeks. We’re kind of crowding the plants this year, but I think it’ll be okay.

The eggplant and peppers in the Asian garden area already looking a little bit windblown. Oh well. They have to get used to it sometime! We planted 4 ‘Kermit’ eggplant and 8 Asian peppers. 3 Shishito, 3 Sapporo Hot, and 2 Yatsufusa peppers. It could be an exciting summer…
