Friday PhotoEssay

I hope the weather stays dry today! We could use some warm days, non-rainy days to help things dry out. The garden is still growing quickly and looking great, despite the rain. I have to attribute that to the years of soil improvements the Master Gardeners have made in the Demo Garden and our raised beds. They dry out so much more quickly than a regular garden would.

Peas growingThe peas are growing so fast that I’m expecting them to start flowering any day now!

Flowering GreenThe gold-leaved salad green is starting to flower. Luckily, that part is edible too!

Before HarvestThe ‘Bright & Spicy’ mesclun and spinach before harvest.

Bordeaux SpinachThis ‘Bordeaux’ spinach is a change of pace in the spinach world. You can see how it got its name.

Garden ViewThe garden is much greener this week. It is growing fast, despite all the rain.

Have a great weekend!
