Rain?

Did you get any rain last night? Here in the Demonstration Garden…I don’t think we got more than a sprinkle. Of course, I would know for sure if we actually had a rain gauge! Note to self: Buy a rain gauge.

Hose Deciding when to water can be one of the trickier things about gardening, especially in the spring and fall. In the summer, it’s hot! It is a fair guess that the garden will need a drink.

Here, I watered thoroughly last Thursday after planting seeds. When I came in yesterday morning, everything was pretty dry. It is important to keep the soil moist for germinating seeds, so I wanted to water. But….we were supposed to be getting rain! Lots of rain! So I held off. Now I think I had better go take care of the watering before my seeds decide not to grow! (On second thought – after stepping outside – I believe I will wait to water until the chill has left the air!)
